The Proposal Experience in Pictures

Proposals at O’Brien Estate

The moment, kept

You will only ask once. Our staff photograph it as it happens, from far enough away that the two of you never stop being alone.

The afternoon

Private, unhurried, entirely yours

A proposal here is a private tasting first. Your own table looking out over the vineyard, your own host, and no crowd to perform for.

When you are ready, you give us a signal. Your host steps back, the camera comes out, and the next few minutes belong to the two of you. Afterwards there is wine, and time to sit with what just happened before you call anyone.

Late afternoon is the hour we suggest. The light comes low across the vines, and the estate has gone quiet.

Where it happens

Proposal Locations

Two private tables in the vineyard, and a rose arch for the photographs afterwards. Tell us which you have in mind and it is held for the two of you alone.

The north gazebo table at O'Brien Estate set with a dozen red roses, string lights above and the vineyard beyond

The north gazebo

A table for two beneath the fig tree, string lights overhead and the vines running out to the hills. The most sheltered of the three, and the quietest.

The rose arch

Where couples walk once the ring is on. The climbing roses frame the vineyard behind you, and this is a favourite spot for the portraits afterwards.

The west gazebo

Open on every side, with the kitchen garden in bloom on one and the vineyard on the other. The louvered roof follows the sun, so it holds the late afternoon light longest.

Afterwards

What you take home

A newly engaged couple making a heart shape with their hands in the vineyard

The photographs

Every frame from the proposal, delivered to you after the visit. Two complete sets are published here so you can see exactly what that means.

A bottle of O'Brien Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

A bottle with your names on it

Our Cabernet Sauvignon, labelled with the two of you and the date. The Passion poem is on the back.

A dozen roses

On the table when you arrive, and in her hands in half the photographs afterwards.

Couples open it on the anniversary. Some wait until the wedding. One came back for a second bottle because the first had been drunk the same night.

Plan yours

Proposals are by reservation, one couple at a time. Tell us the date you have in mind and we will take it from there.
